Sportsnet
Redesigns, widgets, modules, score pages, and more

Sportsnet is one of Canada’s leading online sports destinations. In 2020, 10.7 million Canadians tuned in to Sportsnet on a single weekend, connecting with 29% of the Canadian population.
My design impact on the Sportsnet online platform unified the evolving visual language, brought utility and clarity to high-traffic statistics pages, and ultimately drove audience growth, including a streaming content increase of 250% from 2019 to 2021.

Audio Player
Leaning on the existing design language of the platform, I redesigned the in-line audio player, which plays podcasts and other audio content without leaving the page.

New Login
To solve our high-friction, outdated authentication experience, I designed a responsive, tabbed modal that unified "Sign In" and "Sign Up" side-by-side.
Based on competitive benchmarking and usage stats, I stripped out redundant mandatory fields and introduced tiered social logins, elevating Google and Facebook as primary login methods.
I also integrated a persistent value proposition panel alongside the form, which testing showed was crucial for preventing drop-off among infrequent users.

Impact
In 2016, Sportsnet was reporting approximately 4.5 million monthly unique visitors. Based on Rogers-published anchor points and third-party traffic tools, that figure is estimated to have grown to roughly 8–10 million monthly unique visitors by 2024–2025.
